Spitfire Made From 6,500 Egg Cartons by Jack Munro and Charlotte Austen

The 12-meter long, 13-meter wide full scale sculpture of a mark I spitfire was created for the ‘eggs for soldiers‘ charity fundraising campaign. This spitfire was made by hackney-based sculptors jack munro and charlotte austen from 6,500 eggs cartons. The structure/skeleton of this replica was constructed from a mixture of timber and steel framing, able to be broken down into 12 sections so as to be transported by lorry.
